Withers has named partner Zhang Wei as chief executive of its Hong Kong office, making her the youngest to hold the position among the firm’s 17 global offices and bolstering its growing number of female leaders.
She joins female leaders including Withers CEO Margaret Robertson in the UK, President Justine Markovitz in Switzerland and Managing Partner Deborah Barker in Singapore.

Zhang, a partner in the private client and tax team, joined the firm in 2014 and was promoted to partner two years later. Previously, she worked in the firm’s New York and New Haven offices as a partner since 2010.
She focuses on complex tax and wealth planning issues for high net worth individuals, their families and trustees, and advises individuals with residences, assets and wealth planning vehicles in multiple jurisdictions. Zhang also advises individuals migrating, relocating, or investing in the United States, or seeking compliance with US tax and reporting compliance requirements.
