Capito, Manchin and McKinley Announce Bipartisan Infrastructure Act Funding for Grant County Airport Modernization

CHARLESTON, W. Va. – Today, U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (RW.Va.) and Joe Manchin (DW.Va.) and Rep. David McKinley (RW.Va.) announced $75,636 of the Airport Infrastructure Grant ( AIG) from the US Department of Transportation (DOT). program in Grant County, West Virginia. Funding goes through bipartisanship Infrastructure Investment and Employment Act (IIJA) and will support upgrades to the Grant County Airport taxiway, including pavement sealing and crack repair.

“West Virginia airports play a key role in growing our local economies, and this funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Employment Act will help increase development opportunities in Grant County as a result,” said Senator Capito. “Improving the quality, capacity and safety of our airports was a priority of mine when I helped shape this legislation, and I am delighted to see these resources announced. As leader of the Credit and Trade Committees, I will continue to work to ensure that our airports have the necessary resources to strengthen operations, maintain a safe environment and provide more travelers with the opportunity to see all that our State has to offer. ”
