Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) has recorded a 45% growth in its e-commerce sector since the beginning of this year.
The growth can be attributed to the authority’s various offerings, primarily warehouse solutions, and developments in the e-commerce sector in the UAE, the official news agency said. W.A.M. reported. Warehousing solutions, which are at the heart of AFZ’s operations, are designed to fill logistical gaps.
Additionally, the dedicated logistics cluster also benefits e-commerce businesses by giving them access to end-to-end warehousing capabilities, according to the release.
Ali AlSuwaidi, Managing Director of AFZ, said, “The e-commerce sector has been integral to our success, especially given its rapid growth in the country. AFZ recognizes the importance of having advanced logistics facilities installed in strategic locations for wide reach and market penetration, to facilitate the growth of e-commerce. The positive results reflect our strategic approach and guidelines to grow this industry and attract more business with our e-commerce center, advanced range of offers and other value-added services.
Free zone partnerships with major entities, such as Ajman Chamber, Ajman Port, Noon and banking institutions further facilitate doing business in the UAE.
Last month, the free zone signed a memorandum of understanding with Zajel, a company specializing in logistics and transport.
AFZ also recorded 4% annual growth in 2021, registering 1,792 new businesses.
